PARTNERSHIP WITH JURUPARÁ STATE PARK

The Legado das Águas has been granted authorization to organize tourist activities in the Jurupará State Park. The objective of the partnership is to develop integrated eco-tourism itineraries, including cycling, walking along trails to waterfalls and rafting on the Juquiá River.

The Jurupará State Park, which was created in 1992, is located in the municipalities of Ibiúna and Piedade (SP) and covers an area of more than 26 thousand hectares. It is an integral part of the State Forest System (SIEFLOR) and is administered by the Forest Foundation, an entity linked to the Secretariat for the Environment of the State of São Paulo.

PARTNERSHIP WITH THE GOVERNMENT OF THE STATE OF SÃO PAULO

This long-term vision was formalized, in 2012, in a memorandum of agreement on the use of these areas, between the Government of the State of São Paulo and Votorantim S.A. As a result, the Legado das Águas was established with the aim of using these environmental resources to generate a positive legacy for society by developing activities in research, education and sustainable tourism, as well as enabling business opportunities.  From the beginning, the Legado das Águas has focused its efforts on fostering initiatives that generate shared value through forest conservation, thereby contributing to the development of the entire Ribeira Valley region.
